The most important thing is to clean up spills as soon as possible to stop stains from setting.

K.ONE bathroom in black concrete.

You can find cement in one of two types: porous or non-porous. This will depend on whether or not it’s sealed. Most cement cabinets will be sealed for extra protection. While the cement itself is extremely hard and durable, the sealer is not and can be damaged if you use a knife blade straight on it, use abrasive cleaners or place something very hot on it. This is why your cupboard door will have to re-sealed periodically.

Regardless of the kind of concrete cabinets that you own, it’s always important to wipe them daily and deep clean them at least once a week to maintain them.

ONE kitchen in grey cement

There are a few ways to clean your cement cabinet door:

1. Warm water and soap
A mild dishwashing soap is a great way to remove spills and prevent stains on cement. Use two tablespoons of soap in a mid-size bowl of water. Use a soft cloth to gently wipe the spills off the cupboard door.

2. Laundry detergent
Another great, and mild, way to clean your cupboard door is to use laundry detergent and laundry stain remover. Spray a little bit of stain remover on the spill or stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Sprinkle a bit of detergent on the stain and let it sit a few more minutes. Wipe and scrub with a soft, wet cloth or towel.

3. Hydrogen peroxide
If you have older or more stubborn stains you can try a paste using hydrogen peroxide. Only use this method as a last resort:

Use one or two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide

Mix with a cup of flour and some water to make a paste

Place the paste on the stain and let it sit for a few hours

Scrub and wipe the paste off with a wet cloth

4. Specific Cleaning Products
It is important to use products that are formulated to clean concrete cabinet doors for daily use. There are many products on the market that will clean concrete counter tops while protecting them from damage. One of the most convenient products is PH balanced wipes. They are easy to use and can help you wipe down your cupboard door after cooking.

K.KUBE bathroom in black concrete.

Whether you use soap and water, a paste or apply a wax, keeping your concrete kitchen or bath, looking its best is critical to maintaining its appearance and protecting your investment.

No matter what, RiFRA is always available if you have questions on the care of your cupboard door.
