I have just returned from New York where I signed the contract to supply 40 Kitchens and 52 Bathroom Furniture for this real estate project, under construction in Brooklyn, in the Gowanus district.

Gowanus is an unconventional neighborhood where the old meets the new, heavy industry meets artistic creativity and melting-pot meets surprising beauty.

The townhouses are the traditional real estate heritage of Gowanus, but after the recent reorientation, the large new developments of prestigious apartments are becoming more and more numerous.

Art galleries, cocktail bars, archery fields, baseball courts and old style gyms can be found in Gowanus.
Abandoned factories and side streets are the perfect canvas for street artists.

The new project by the New York developer Happy Living was born in this context. Thanks to the careful design of the studio of the Italian architect Luca Andrisani, based in New York, the project brings to the neighborhood a high-level residential project, with a typically Italian emotional design, characterized by the refinement of materials and high-end finishes.

The exteriors and interiors are characterized by arched architecture, a distinctive sign of the project, while the apartments, which are already delivered finished and furnished by kitchens and bathrooms RiFRA, are designed for a young and fashionable, but demanding and attentive to detail, contemporary design, and the quality of finishes typically Italian.

Architect Andrisani, in charge of the design of the exterior façade and interior design, explains the philosophy at the heart of the project:

“Central to the exterior is an armoniuos repetition of different sizes of oversized arches, an archetype very diffused in the 1800s architecture of Brooklyn. The result is a dynamic façade that tends to dematerialize the massiveness of the building while breaking from the monotony of glassy developments.

The interiors are finished in comfortable warm yet sleek materials with modern fixtures and appliances.”

The kitchens to be supplied are from the LINE collection, while the bathroom furniture will be created to the architect’s design.

RiFRA’s productive and logistical effort is summarized in these data and in this infographic:

• 40 kitchens
• 52 bathroom furniture
• For a total of 7 containers to be loaded in the Lesmo factory 20 km north of Milan, then taken to Genoa by road, then crossed the Atlantic Ocean by ship to the port of New York for customs clearance and then final delivery by road, directly to the Job Site.

The delivery is scheduled in two tranches between 2018 and 2019
