The interior design magazines are an indispensable tool to enrich the thirst for information and keep us up to date with the trends, products and interior design protagonists.

The review that follows, represents an editorial mapping about this issue.

The five best magazines have been chosen placing the focus on those of interior design and in the category of those had a significant impact in the development of the sector, in Italy and worldwide.


Founded in Milan in 1828, among the major interior design magazine, it has been at the heart of the international debate about the contemporary architectural issues, dedicating enough space to the design and insights into the interior design.

Nowadays it is a universal and prestigious reference point about the architectural culture indeed, it hosts reviews and analysis of the most important international artists.

It is an historic Milanese magazine aimed at a planning and designers.

It is the first italian magazine of interiors.

Interni was published in 1954, in the economic boom that made people become interested in design for the first time.

As in the magazines I have already presented, every article is drawn up in Italian and English.

Besides the news from the design world, it is related by in-depht analysis on innovations, events, exhibitions, works of the biggest designers and guides containing contacts of the greatest brands.


It is the younger magazine of the selection.

Born in the USA in 1920 it has been successfully imported in Italy in 1981.

It has published by Conte Nast, the editorial colossus that publishes famous magazines like GQ, Vogue, Vanity Fair and it is headed by the architect and designer Ettore Mochetti.

AD explores the most beautiful house all over the world thanks to the various vip that open their houses to the photographs and show their style and choices.

We find “author houses” where is on stage the combination between art and design. And then, furniture of artist, artisanal manufactures, textiles from tha fashion system, renovations and iconic pieces.
