The official RiFRA blog, Kitchens and Baths direct from Milano

[VIDEO] RiFRA turns 50 today

On January 21, 1970, 5 Rivolta brothers, led by Mr. Giuseppe Rivolta, founded RIFRA Mobili s.r.l, heir to several furniture manufacturing companies born since 1930 and created by their father, Giovanni Rivolta and his brother Emilio Rivolta.

The production of the Rivolta family and therefore of RiFRA evolved from furniture for living and sleeping areas, to furniture for bathrooms, with a focus on:

  • Internal production of all phases
  • Design innovations and materials
  • Growth of the company from subcontractors to independent brand.

In the video you can see the various phases of RiFRA’s products brought to the market, all of them very successful.

HISTORICAL AND PRODUCT HINTS

In the 1970s, RiFRA introduced lacquering and invented the modern concept of the shoe rack, producing and selling tens of thousands of pieces.

In the 80s RiFRA innovated, studied and proposed to the market the modern concept of bathroom furniture (Aurora and Panda collections) with under-counter washbasin integrated in the furniture, and the introduction of RiFRA’s renowned “glossy lacquering” that fully combines the hedonism typical of the 80s.

Subsequently, in the early 90s, GAMMA was born, a very successful collection, which satisfies the needs of master bathrooms, with increasingly important compositions.

The brand was also renewed with the inclusion of the payoff “furnishes the bathroom over time”.

In the second half of the 90’s the Castiglia Associati studio creates the SINTESI collection, the first collection on the market with a large countertop washbasin, specifically designed for RiFRA furniture, and is immediately a great success, first in Italy and then in Russia.

In the 2000s design became more and more contemporary and minimalist, with the birth of the first ZENIT monobloc collection and later FONTE, which brings the concept of modular furniture into the bathroom.

Fonte in particular accompanied the company for about 20 years, coming out of the price list only at the beginning of 2020.

At the end of 2000 MODUS was born, with the aim of bringing design and quality furniture into the bathroom.

MODUS had peculiarities that we still find today in contemporary collections, such as the lacquering inside the cabinet, the absence of handles or grooves, and a washbasin with continuous drain.

The production of kitchens also began, however, dedicated to U.S. real estate projects.

From 2010 to the present, the evolution of bathroom furniture design evolves with B2K and Less, and sees the birth of a revolutionary collection (presented at the 2010 furniture show) K.ONE, which brings the concept of the design monoblock, shaped at 45°, into the bathroom.

In 2014, four collections of Kitchen and Bathroom Furniture, ONE, FLY, ZERO and LINE were presented, creating a single product category, Kitchen and Bathroom.

The logo is then re-styled, with the insertion of the payoff “Kitchens and Baths direct from Milano”.

In 2017, in order to present the collections to the market, the showroom in Milan was created, in 2019 the one in Rome, and today the RiFRA product is displayed in many independent points of sale, in Europe and worldwide.

A big thank you to those who worked for the creation of all this, employees, collaborators, clients and suppliers!
