Wondering what color trends will pop up in 2018 for bathrooms? Look no further!
Having to choose the color of your new bathroom is not quite as simple as you thought. You don’t know what color to choose, but you get goose bumps when you think of the old tiles at your grandmother’s house? Don’t want to go with the traditional, clinical “all-white” look? The great news is that there are so many colors to choose from and, thankfully, in the past year or so, trends have shifted from the all-white focus into other colors that might tickle your fancy a little bit more. Here’s a little guide to help pick a color for your new bathroom.
If you are into colors, you’re in luck, because in 2017/2018 bathroom trends, it’s all about color. Bold and bright. Whether you choose to use these colors as your main hue or just as an accent, you are sure to have your bathroom on fleek with these flashy tones.
BLACK

This color has gone from being a big no-no to completely dominating the scene. Once thought to be an unsuitable color for a bathroom, it’s now turning around and becoming a true neutral with a very distinctive story to tell. In 2017/2018 trends, black is used in matte, instead of shiny; it gives a luxurious, high-end feel and can be used as the leading chroma, or, if you’re just not that bold, as an accent color. Use it if you have a lot of natural light or have high ceilings to give your bathroom a distinctive and elegant style.

GREY

Another big trend this year is grey. Because it’s so versatile and has so many shades, grey, in all of its forms, can create any kind of look. Give it a cold undertone and you have an industrial, serene look. However, with a pink undertone, it can make a bathroom with natural light look soft and romantic. Of course, grey is a classic neutral, but not so classic that it’s boring, like white or beige can be. It’s a neutral that really says something, without being in your face about it. It compliments any color you pair it with, letting the other color be the protagonist, if that’s what you want. Grey in itself can also play the leading role; it’s all about the look you want to create.

BRASS

Not so much a color and more of a material, it’s the essence of brass, as well as brass itself that you want to be aware of. Anything metallic and shiny is in, such as paint with a metallic finish. This type of color will add an incredible amount of glitz and flashiness to any boring old bathroom. Pair it with brass fixings and some golden accents and you have a bold statement in your hands.

No matter what trends are in style this year and the next, make sure you remain true to yourself and your style. In the end, what matters is that you love the space you live in and that it screams you when someone walks through the door. However, if having a bold colored bathroom has always been something you’ve wanted to do, take advantage of this moment that trends are moving from the sterile white into a more colorful future.
